Why Hire A Decorator?

Some things, well, many things, are best left to a pro.

I am not a proponent of the current ‘DIY’ process that is so prevalent. True, anyone can buy furnishings and put them in a room but when you want to get the best use out of your space and have it look ‘awesome,’ rather than just ‘o.k.’, then it is time to call me. There can be nuances (more often major differences) between a do-it-yourself job and one handled by someone with the training and talent to make a room into what you imagine it can be.

Wow! Speaking as someone with a bit of an independent streak, I admit to having begun projects that I thought looked fairly cut and dried on the surface but that in hindsight were more complex than I expected, or my tools or supplies weren’t quite right.

I could not agree more about the differences between DYI projects and those coordinated by a professional.

As a former kitchen and bath professional, I experienced many occasions when my clients had begun a project that television and YouTube videos had made look easy. That’s often because the challenges are either edited out or entire (read: important) steps are skipped.

Once they started down that do-it-yourself path, then they realized the value of hiring a pro.
